From 2011 to 2018, the firm represented the joint venture in disputes related to the construction of a 155 MW hydroelectric power plant. The disputes involved various issues including the powerhouse, tunnel construction, transmission line and substations, as well as the design and construction of turbines, among others.

This is the second arbitration arising from the same conflict over the construction of a hydroelectric power plant in the Andes Mountains. The first arbitration related to the unilateral and early termination of the contract and the damages allegedly caused. In the second arbitration — where we acted as co-counsel with a U.S. firm — the contractor sought to hold not only the principal but also its parent companies liable, invoking the theory of piercing the corporate veil. Both proceedings concluded successfully in early 2022.
Representation of a group of minority shareholders of a Spanish company in an arbitration related to the development of photovoltaic energy projects, for approximately USD 40 million.
The dispute focused on defending the rights of the minority shareholders against the partners, involving complex issues of civil and commercial law as well as energy and photovoltaic market regulation.
